Our Response to COVI19

As a humanitarian aid organization, one of the goals of Mission Trips Uganda is to address disease and illness in impoverished and susceptible local communities in Uganda through outreaches to families and communities in dire need. Mission Trips Uganda is actively navigating a world with increasing health concerns due to COVID-19 and we are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our staff families, communities, volunteers and partners.

The process of figuring out food distribution to families in Uganda hasn’t been easy. We’ve have to work with local government and local authorities to set up a safe system for distribution and figure out a lot of logistics along the way as Uganda has strict stay-at-home orders.

We were praying for the families in the local community and families of Mission Trips Uganda Children that we know are going hungry. Mission Trips Uganda Team is working long days to identify which families are in the most desperate conditions. God has blessed us with a team that is able do figure out how to reach families in need with food hampers. We have been and are continuing to distribute food through these dark times to the families and the communities we serve.

As May 11, 2020, Mission Trips Uganda is implementing the following:

  • Buwooya Mission School.: There will be no classes at the Buwooya Mission School for the next 30 days.
  • Kids Mission Clubs: There will be no kids' clubs in our communities. We are dedicated to helping limit the spread of disease and have followed recommendations from Ministry of Health and the government of Uganda.
  • Mission Trips: Mission trips have been postponed until after a period of 90 days. We are in communication with our international partners and team leaders to reschedule these trips. Our standard cancellation policy remains in effect at this time.

But the story of hope never stops. With your continued support and contributions, we can work towards our mission of  reaching out to the most vulnerable children and communities in Uganda. Please stay tuned to our website and social media channels, as well as your email inbox, for new, innovative ways to receive encouragement and to discover opportunities to continue giving hope when the world needs it most.

We will continue to closely follow developments from the Ministry of Health in Uganda and the Center for Disease Control and the U.S. State Department. Any future updates, if necessary, will be communicated via our website: http://www.missiontripsuganda.org and our social media channels. For any questions or concerns, please email: missiontripsuganda@gmail.com

God bless you all big time and please keep safe,
